“The sea once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder.”

This can very well summarize Hope Island, located off the coast of Kakinada in the Bay of Bengal. This tadpole shaped island formed 200 years ago by sand formation, in the East Godavari district is a wonder of nature in Andhra Pradesh. Come here to experience beautiful views of the bay and the many variety of plant and animal species that flourish here.

Hope Island is also famous for the endangered Olive Ridley turtles that come here to nest. Walk along the shores of this unique sandpit island with these aquatic creatures and their little ones. Also joining you will be red crabs that scurry around adding fun and frolic to an otherwise peaceful landscape.
Connectivity to the island has been improved by a boat facility from Jawahar Jetty, making it easier for tourists to reach Hope Island.  You can also take a ferry or motorized boat from Kakinada Port to get here and it will reach you in about 45 minutes.
